Do you also cover household goods?

Santam offers extensive home contents cover to ensure that your household goods are sufficiently protected against any insurable adverse event. I am insured with Santam, but I don’t have an electrical certificate for the work that was done on my house. What will happen to my claim if my house is damaged due to an electrical fault and I cannot provide a certificate?

Santam investigates each claim on its own merits and circumstances. Should it be found that electrical work does not comply with regulations there might be issues with the claim. However, if it was done correctly and it was found that the loss/or damage falls within the cover provided by the policy contract, the loss/or damage would be covered.
