Wikus assumed the position of Chief Financial Officer and Finance Director and is in charge of overseeing the financial operations of the Santam Group, which includes a range of responsibilities such as financial reporting, managing shareholder investments, internal audit, and corporate legal services. Wikus joined Sanlam in 2000, where he held various senior positions in the actuarial, tax services and group finance areas. Wikus has in-depth experience in life assurance, general insurance, asset management and employee benefits, including capital management, over a career of more than 23 years at the Sanlam Group. Previously, Wikus served as a Board member of Sanlam Kenya Plc and its subsidiaries, where he also chaired the Sanlam Kenya Plc Audit and Risk Committee. In addition to this, he acted as a board member for numerous operational investment subsidiaries of the Sanlam Group and played significant roles in several Sanlam Group Governance structures.
