Ruwaida assumed the role of group company secretary at Santam in 2022. She previously served in various senior risk, governance, compliance, legal, commercial and company secretarial roles in the JSE-listed environment in the financial services industry, the FMCG industry as well as the energy sector before joining Sanlam Ltd in 2018 until mid-2022. She also gained valuable experience on the boards of directors on which she previously served during her tenure as an independent non-executive director.
