Charisse assumed the position as Chief Risk Officer in 2023 and is responsible for overseeing several critical areas, including enterprise risk management, financial risk management, business integrity, and forensics, as well as the internal capital model. Charisse joined Santam in 2012 and was appointed to the role of Deputy CRO in January 2023. She is a fellow of the Actuarial Society of South Africa and graduated with a BSc (Hons) in Financial Engineering from the University of Pretoria. Over the years, Charisse has developed a comprehensive understanding of Santam's risk profile and the competitive landscape. With over 15 years of experience in the non-life financial services sector, she is a qualified actuary, bringing valuable expertise to the table.
