Tavaziva assumed the position of Group Chief Executive Officer in 2022. He is a qualified Actuary with extensive experience in the insurance and broader financial services sector spanning life, non-life, asset management, and banking over the past two decades. Before joining Santam, Tavaziva held the position of Group Managing Director at Britam Holdings, a diversified investment business listed on the Nairobi Securities Exchange. His professional background includes working in both South Africa and Sub-Sahara Africa. Tava’s work experience includes a 16-year tenure at Old Mutual. Additionally, he spent four years at Swiss Re, initially serving as Chief Executive for the Middle East and Africa region before later assuming the role of Chief Executive for the UK and Ireland, based in London.
